Leadership

D.R. Mehta - Chief Mentor & Advisor
Mr. D.R. Mehta joined the Indian Administrative Services in 1961 and held numerous important positions initially in the Government of Rajasthan and later in the Government of India.
Mr. Mehta served as the Chairman of SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) from 1995 to 2002. From 1992 to 1995 Mehta served as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Still earlier, from 1991 to 1992 he was the Director General of Foreign Trade, Government of India, and Ministry of Commerce. Prior to this from 1989 to 1991, Mehta was Additional Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, dealing with banking. From 1974 to 1989, except for a period of five years in between when he was serving the Ministry of Finance in the Government of India, Mehta had served the State Government of Rajasthan in various senior positions as the Secretary to the Government, in the Departments of Industries, Mines, and Special Programs of the Poor etc. During this period he was the Secretary to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
D.R. Mehta set up the largest organization in the world for the handicapped in the world namely, Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) in Jaipur in 1975 and is now its full time honorary volunteer. Mehta's focus on combining social service with science led to an MOU between Stanford University and BMVSS, resulting in the development of a new Knee Joint called the Jaipur Knee. It was hailed by the Time Magazine as one of the 50 Best Inventions of the World for the year 2009.
In 2008, Mr. Mehta was conferred with the Padma Bhushan by the President of India. He received the TECH Museum Award for Innovation and Its Use for Humanity in Silicon Valley in November 2007. He is also a recipient of The Indian for Collective Action Award, DIWALI BEHAN Award (conferred by Dalai Lama),CNBC Award for Social Enterprise, Satpal Mittal Award, etc. Mr. Mehta is also a Director on the Europe / Asia Board of the Alfred Sloan School of Management, MIT, USA. He is a graduate of Arts and Law from Rajasthan University. He also studied at Royal Institute of Public Administration, London, UK and the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Mr. Vinay Bapna - Chairman
Mr. Vinay Bapna is widely recognized not only as leading real-estate developer for the last 3 decades but also as a renowned spiritual bhajan vocal artist across the country. His business pursuits have led him to deliver some of the most distinguished and renowned projects across India. Mr. Bapna’s spiritual inclination and after having done more the 1500 musical evenings across the globe has enabled him to forge decade long relationships with the leading business houses and several industry stalwarts of this country.
As the Chairman, mentor and guide to the Bapna Tech team, his experience, relationships and large network has been instrumental in delivering key business opportunities and contributing to the rapid growth of the company. Mr. Bapna has made several strategic alliances, which are providing the company great strength and stimulus for a well poised ambitious growth plan. Mr. Bapna graduated from the renowned school, La – Martiniere, Kolkata and went on to acquire his bachelor’s degree from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.

Mr. Siddharth Bapna - Founder & CEO
Mr. Siddharth Bapna is a genetic entrepreneur from his roots in Rajasthan. He is an alumnus from the prestigious La – Martiniere, Kolkata and the American Embassy School, New Delhi. After which he went on to acquire his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with his core focus on Finance from the University of Calcutta.
Mr. Bapna initiated a few business ventures during early college days after which he went through intensive corporate training with the global financial firm, Ernst and Young, India and was a core assurance team-member for eminent corporate names such as, Spencer’s Retail Ltd., Exide Industries Ltd., Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation Ltd., Timken India Ltd among others.
Bapna Tech is now an end to end integrated Education Technology, Services and Management Company with its dynamism reflecting through its innovative and diverse portfolio of products.
Mr. Bapna also serves as a director on the board of Bapna Real Estate Co. PL, Del York Advisors PL, Cherry Tree PL, and is the trustee of Smile Foundation.

Mr. Vikram Bawa - President
Mr. Vikram Bawa brings rich and diverse international experience. Mr. Bawa joined BTPL in 2010 and is responsible for developing overall growth strategy, product diversification, customer segmentation, industry alliances, service delivery and business development for the company.
Prior to joining BTPL, Mr. Bawa worked with Hudsonferry Capital, a private equity firm in New York, where he worked closely with industry experts and management of the portfolio companies to develop and implement strategic business plans including growth strategy, sales strategy, cost optimization strategy and restructuring strategy. He was responsible for conducting due diligence on various companies which led to several leveraged buyouts at the firm. Prior to Hudson Capital, Mr. Bawa worked leading multinational banks such as Standard Chartered and ICICI Bank Ltd in various strategic management roles in corporate banking, marketing & product development. He also worked with Colgate Palmolive Ltd, New York in their flagship leadership program.
Mr. Bawa completed his Master of Business Administration degree from Olin Business School, Washington University, USA and Bachelors of Engineering degree in Computer Science from University of Pune, India.

About YV ELP
The YUGAVIDYAA “Emerging Leaders Program” (YV ELP) 2013 enrolls well deserved students' with an edge who meet a minimum age requirement of 16 and other program eligibility criteria. The ELP gives the student a chance to complete a US High School Diploma coupled with a college Associate Degree during their 11th and 12th year of education at GRCC.
The YV ELP Approach allows the students to study in the USA during their 11th and 12th Grade years, and in turn helps them save 2 years of college time and money by achieving their US High School Diploma (Equivalent to an Indian School completion) and simultaneously complete their first 2 years of college credit via the Associate Degree.
After the Associate Degree in Business, Science, Engineering or Arts at GRCC, the student benefits from the University Transfer Pathway Program and transfers directly into third year of any of the US Universities to complete their bachelors.
The student would also be getting a conditional letter of acceptance from these universities during the very inception of this program in the 11th Year, prior to leaving for the USA, guaranteeing them admission into the 3rd and 4th year of bachelors degree.
The aim of this program is to create a diverse peer group, who wish to take this big leap to immerse themselves in a competitive environment in order to achieve their true potential. The program provides a platform for students to study amidst world-class faculty and infrastructure at GRCC, with a campus spread over 180 Acres, which has over 10,000 students from 35 different nationalities.

Green River Community College is a public two-year college where students from all over the world come together to learn, grow and enrich their lives. Green River’s main campus, founded in Auburn’s Lea Hill neighborhood in 1965, stretches over 180 acres of beautifully forested land. Branch campuses, located in downtown Auburn, Kent and Enumclaw, bring the college’s unique educational experiences to local communities.
At Green River, students can choose from a wide variety of transfer degrees, professional-technical programs, pre-college and basic skills courses and continuing education classes. High-quality faculty and motivated staff advise, counsel and support students in their chosen educational careers, creating an atmosphere where achievement is expected and encouraged.
Strong academics, solid student services, a diverse and lively campus community and new facilities combine at Green River to provide students a one-of-kind education with lessons that will stay with them throughout their lives.
HISTORY
The roots of Green River Community College stretch back to 1945, when the Auburn School District started a program of adult evening education, which soon became the largest in Washington state. The popularity of the program convinced citizens from the surrounding communities that the Green River Valley needed its own community college. Local committees began working to secure state approval to start a community college in 1959. In 1963, the determination of local citizens paid off when the Washington State Board of Education approved the community college.
Green River's professional and technical program began in September 1964 at a location near the Auburn Boeing plant. A year later, Green River opened its doors at its present location on Lea Hill, east of Auburn. This favorable location is easy to reach from local communities and is a 40-minute drive from either Seattle or Tacoma. With increasing demand for higher education, Green River has opened satellite campuses in Kent and Enumclaw.

Board of Trustees

The board of trustees for Green River Community College is composed of influential community members who reside within the college’s district 10 service area. Trustees are volunteers serving a five year term by appointment of the governor.
Trustees arrange a rich diversity of backgrounds and ski is to the governance of Green River Community College. They serve as an important communication link between college and the community. All users sit as a member of the trustees association of communities and technical college. The association is compressed of trustees from the 34 community and technical college statewide.
The Green River Board of trustees meets every third thursday of every month on campus in the board of the administration building. These monthly meeting are open to the public.

University transfer pathway program
GRCC International students have been admitted to hundreds of universities all over the US. Students that gain the qualifications needed for admission at YV ELP 2013 Program at GRCC can transfer to top universities as Third Year Juniors. YV ELP students can receive a University Transfer Pathway letter from one of the above universities at the time they are admitted to the program.
The YV Student will receive the UTP Partner University Conditional Letter of acceptance or statement with the YV ELP at GRCC admission letter and I-20.
